Total US drug overdose deaths 2020-2022 is over 310,569

Over 130,000 of the USA's "excess deaths" in 2020-2022 were actually fatal drug overdoses

The 2020-2022 total number of drug overdose deaths in the United States are as follows:

  • 2020 : 91,800

    1

  • 2021 :  109,179

    2

  • 2022 : 109,680

    3

  • Total (2020 - 2022) = 310,659

Between the years 2000 and 2019, the national average is 40,000/yr. If we look at only the “surge” from 2010 to 2019, the average is closer to 60,000/yr. At 60,000 a year, that is 130,000 excess deaths, from drug overdoses alone, during the first 3 years of the “covid19 pandemic”.

2020 and 2021 data is available from US NIH NIDA

Note that the total from 2021 was revised up from 106,699 to 109,179, per the CDC data reported in the May 17 2023 NYTimes article.

“Figure 1. National Drug-Involved Overdose Deaths—Number Among All Ages, by Gender, 1999-2021. More than 106,000 persons in the U.S. died from drug-involved overdose in 2021, including illicit drugs and prescription opioids. The figure above is a bar and line graph showing the total number of U.S. drug overdose deaths involving select illicit or prescription drugs from 1999 to 2021. The bars are overlaid by lines showing the number of deaths by gender from 1999 to 2021 (Source: CDC WONDER).” Image Source : USA National Institute of Health, Overdose death rates : https://nida.nih.gov/research-topics/trends-statistics/overdose-death-rates ([HG00H1][Saved copy on May 18 2023])

2022 data now available in May 17 2023 NYTimes article

“Nearly 110,000 people died last year of drug overdoses in the United States, according to preliminary federal data published on Wednesday, a staggering figure that nonetheless represented a plateau after two years of sharp increases.
The preliminary count of 109,680 overdose deaths was only slightly higher than the figure for 2021, when 109,179 people were estimated to have died, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Overdose deaths had climbed significantly that year and the prior year, increasing by roughly 17 percent in 2021 and 30 percent in 2020.’

2020-2022 totals do not reflect drug overdoses that were classified as “COVID deaths”

Via discussions with coroners and medical examiners, and detailed analysis of death certificates, dozens of drug overdose deaths have been found in just one US State (Massachusetts) that were classified as “COVID”. It is unknown how often this has happened in the United States, but it is safe to assume that several hundred (or possibly thousands) of fatal drug overdoses are now also classified as COVID. Some of this is referenced in the video below, “Ep 174.1:John Beaudoin interview- Court EXHIBIT F detailing Mass fraud, vaccine deaths (Remdesivir?) “.
